One thing that has been said of Ramsbottom United this season is that they don't know how to win ugly. Well, they do now as they had to achieve just that in beating a tenacious Abbey Hey outfit 1-0 on a difficult Riverside surface.
Ramsbottom United turned in a rusty, unconvincing performance in front of a three-year best attendance at The Riverside as they beat a tenacious Atherton LR 3-2 on a blisteringly cold afternoon - but the result took them back to second.
The New Year has brought some very good news from Salford Royal (Hope Hospital) in that Matt Edgington is up on his feet, with help, and is taking on fluids and food through normal means. Edgy is doing well ....
