![]() The most unsurprising news of the weekend and one that is being mirrored across the country - Ramsbottom United v Winsford United on Saturday is OFF. With the ground under something like 8in of snow and with more forecast to come, alongside the freezing temperatures that haven't lifted over the negative, there was absolutely no chance of the game going ahead and the league, along with the FA, have sanctioned that matches can be called off early and without a referee's approval, such is the simple decision. Our next match is scheduled to be away at Squires Gate next Saturday (16 January). Chances of that going ahead - well, SG do play near the coast over in Blackpool and their near neighbours AFC Blackpool were hopeful of getting their game on tomorrow. So, fingers crossed!!! It does now mean that we will not have played for a month should we finally get some action next week - our last game was 15 December (the Maine Road game that should never have been played). For those of you wondering what games we have to fit in before the end of the season, if you click on the FIXTURES link at the top of the page and scroll down to the bottom, all the postponed games are there, all with the date 31 May 2010 (just as a default so they sit at the bottom of the list). |
