![]() Ramsbottom United's Jon Robinson claimed the Vodkat Premier Division Player of the Month award for August recently following a month where he scored 7 goals and led the side with distinction. Jon's determination and endeavour has seen him pick up the captain's armband this season, and his hard work has paid off in the form of seven goals in his first seven matches. He has proved an inspirational leader as the Rams turned in some impressive performances during August, which were worthy of better than the results have shown. Jon's all-round work ethic and trickery on the ball has caused numerous problems for opposing defences, and for his size, he regularly gets his head on the ball when it would appear he has no right to! A gifted and hard-working forward, Jon displays all the characteristics one would wish for, as his team-mates follow his example. He had an excellent month, deserving of winning this award and below is league secretary John Deal presenting Jon with his bottle of Vodkat vodka and a new pair of boots. Unfortunately, Jon won't be able to wear them for a little while yet, as the picture shows, the striker broke his ankle whilst playing five-a-side football in an effort to keep himself fit whilst suspended and is still a little way off playing again. ![]() |
